Battle for Broad is a 25 minute documentary video that captures the tension
and excitement of four days in the summer of 2000 leading up to the
Republican National Convention. With the eyes of the world upon them, the
Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign gathers to take on the
Philadelphia police in a battle to hold an illegal march on the Convention's
opening day. Learn from the largest march of poor people in the United States since
Martin Luther King's Poor People's Campaign in 1968.  Battle for Broad is a
blueprint for organizing against the Republican National Convention in New
York City this summer.
Battle for Broad was made possible with support from Bruce Springsteen and
Michael Moore.
Battle for Broad was created by Skylight Pictures and the Media College of
the University of the Poor. Order online for only $15:

A Secretive Transfer in Iraq (cached)

Who Lost Iraq? (cached)
Let's say the obvious. By making Iraq a playground for right-wing economic theorists, an employment agency for friends and family, and a source of lucrative contracts for corporate donors, the administration did terrorist recruiters a very big favor.

THE WAR IN IRAQ--A YEAR LATER:
Read Seymour Hersh's article in The New Yorker that broke the story about the torture in American run Iraqi prisons. (cached)
The nightmare at Abu Ghraib. Contractors implicated in the abuses remain on the job. Outrage is not enough. Amnesty International says the abuse has been going on for a year. The former Iraqi human rights minister says he told L. Paul Bremer about the detainee abuse in November. The Red Cross says it warned America repeatedly.

It's one thing to wait for a new strategic plan before taking the fight to Al-Qaida in Afghanistan and Pakistan. It's another entirely to ignore evidence that mounted all through 2001 that the United States was about to be hit. (cached)

Previous Bush Reversals Amid Criticism

3/15/04
The Bush administration paints the Spanish returns as a victory for terrorism. Because the savage Madrid train bombings a few days earlier had been intended to punish the ruling Popular Party for its participation in the American-led coalition in Iraq.

2/22/04
The economy is not doing so hot, to make the numbers look good our elected government is going to reclassify workers at mc donalds as factory workers. I think that the right-wingers and their friends who are driving our country into the ground and creating enemies all over the world, are over-doing it on purpose so that come november 2004 they can "undo" a few things, so that the few americans, who are showing up to vote, will say; "see, they aren't so bad" .
This has already started with Bush’s plan to add a prescription drug benefit to medicare, or the immigration plan to let in some mexicans.
And then there is Osama bin Laden, who's capture will be well timed before the elections so that bush can say he put an end to terrorism.

Do something, vote at least, it doesn't matter who you vote for! Put an action guide or "do something" page on your website to give the websites that you like more hits. And remember it's always the people behind the scenes who move the puppets that are more interesting, don't let the mainstream media fool you.

Intelligence and Wisdom
We have, as the latest intelligence reports from Iraq show repeatedly, turned Saddam Hussein’s iron-fisted dictatorship into an anarchic, ungovernable wasteland.

coalition for realistic foreign policy
The defenders of empire assert that the horrific acts of terrorism on September 11, 2001, demand that we assume new financial burdens to fund an expansive national security strategy, relax ourcommitment to individual liberty at home, and discard our respect for state sovereignty abroad. Nothing could be further from the truth. Following 9/11, we should have refocused our attention onthe very real threats facing us in the 21st century. As a nation, we must not allow the events of 9/11 to be used as a pretext for reshaping American foreign policy in a manner inconsistent withour traditions and values and contrary to our true interests.

Misleader.org is a new daily chronicle of the Bush administration's latest distortions. The trumped up reasons for going to war have collapsed. All the Administration's rationalizations as we prepared to go to war now stand revealed as "double-talk." The American people were told Saddam Hussein was building nuclear weapons. He was not. We were told he had stockpiles of other weapons of mass destruction. He did not. We were told he was involved in 9/11. He was not. We were told Iraq was attracting terrorists from Al Qaeda. It was not. We were told our soldiers would be viewed as liberators. They are not. We were told Iraq could pay for its own reconstruction. It cannot. We were told the war would make America safer. It has not.
