IFC travels throughout Haiti from devastated Port-au-Prince to the beautiful, untouched countryside. Interwoven into Andrew Berends stories are those of other journalists who share their different takes and approaches on how to cover a disaster.

Dear Friends,
(Apologies if you have already received this.)
I spent six weeks in Haiti photographing the aftermath of the earthquake that devastated the country on January 12.
I encountered images of horror and grief but also hope and resilience.
I would like to share with you a collection of my work. Click here to view the galleries. (Be advised, the slideshows include some graphic images.)
Haiti is a poor and troubled country. It is also friendly, hospitable, and beautiful. I wanted not only to photograph the tragic effects of the earthquake, but also to document the beauty of Haiti, the idyllic countryside, and the warmth and vibrancy of the people.
Archival prints are available for purchase with 10% of the proceeds being donated to Doctors Without Borders to support their ongoing work in Haiti.
Please take a look at the images, let me know your reactions, buy a print, and forward to your friends.
Thank you for looking!
Andy.
