Would your job be easily covered? How would anyone else know what to do? How do you know what to teach them? Is everyone in Development, Promotions, Production, Traffic, Post, Audio\u00a0and Master Control on the same page and ready to act? Do you have a production bible?<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"__DdeLink__11888_1471350689\"><\/a>Communicating how to do what you do is very important for reasons ranging from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Getting disparate departments working together more effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Identifying better ways of doing things.<\/li>\n<li>Convincing management why you need additional resources, gear, or personnel.<\/li>\n<li>Delegating more effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Being better prepared for\u00a0organizational change and restructuring.<\/li>\n<li>Discover how some of your peers are grappling with documenting their daily tasks and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Staying on schedule and\u00a0budget,\u00a0<span class=\"text\">undeterred by<\/span>\u00a0people being late, sick or stuck in traffic&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Communicating\u00a0clearly with clients inside and outside the organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For example, as an editor, I want the whole team\u00a0to know where the project files are, both the outputs and the backups.
